COLLEGE OF HUMANITIES AND FINE ARTS
There is no better time to support HFA than during #UMassGives, our annual two-day, university-wide giving campaign. Last year, HFA donors made 687 gifts in the amount of $40,380 to support students. To build on this achievement and unlock the true giving potential of our donors, we need leadership-level gifts, multi-year commitments, and exciting giving match challenges that will inspire others to “give their best.”
This year, the College of Humanities & Fine Arts is raising vital funds to support our students through the HFA Internship Assistance Fund and the HFA Scholarship Fund. Help us guarantee all students, regardless of financial ability, the opportunity to receive invaluable professional training and sustained educational access.
There will be seven Power Hours during #UMassGives. The designation that receives the most gifts during their selected hour will receive a $2,000 bonus. Second place will receive an additional $500.
Please participate in whatever way makes the most sense to you, including helping to promote #UMassGives on your social media, but most importantly, please give!
A Power Hour for HFA’s Internship Assistance Fund will take place on April 29 @ 12 noon!
“My experience really strengthened my passion for curating and shaping viewer’s experiences with art through exhibition layouts, writing, and research. I also parlayed this experience into a year-long curatorial project here at UMass. The value of this internship can not be understated, it is really rare for undergraduates to gain curatorial experience so I actively try to build on each experience in order to develop more skills and meet more people.”

“I worked as a summer teaching fellow in Providence, Rhode Island this past summer. I taught reading and basketball to middle school students. Without funding from HFA I would not have been able to complete this internship, as funding for these organizations is often quite limited.”

“My internships this past summer at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston as the Art of Europe Department Intern and at Vose Galleries as the Summer Intern provided me with hands-on experience working directly with curators, staff members, and fine art. I am incredibly grateful for these two internship opportunities, as they have provided me with the experience necessary to begin my professional career in the fine arts field.”
