The UMass Amherst Libraries provide access to resources vital to teaching, learning, and research for the university community and citizens of the Commonwealth. Through the generosity of donors like you, the Libraries are able to transform and reimagine learning spaces to meet the evolving needs of today’s students and tomorrow’s leaders.
We invite you to support the UMass Amherst Libraries Learning Spaces Fund during #UMassGives.
Your support of the Learning Spaces Fund will:
- Create the next generation Learning Commons, which will feature makerspaces, classrooms, group study rooms, technology, and integrated exhibit spaces. The Learning Commons is the most visited student space on campus, and we are excited to transform the space into an environment that further supports creativity, innovation, and exploration.
- Refresh the Science & Engineering Library to create a cutting-edge facility that will include technology-enhanced collaboration spaces, a multi-functioning learning studio, a makerspace, and a variety of study areas. As enrollment in the sciences and engineering continues to grow, facilities and services will need to improve and expand to meet the needs of current and future students.
- Expand the campus’s first-ever Graduate Commons, providing advanced degree students with their own professional environment suited for individual research, as well as peer-to-peer collaboration. Currently occupying half of Floor 5 of the Du Bois Library, the Graduate Commons will double its size and provide graduate students with an entire floor of their own.
Your gift of any amount will make a difference in helping the Libraries reach these goals and inspire others to give. Please consider making your gift during the Libraries’ Power Hour between 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. EST on April 30th to increase the Libraries’ chance of winning an additional $2,000.
Be sure to follow the Libraries on social media during #UMassGives for a fun look at “48 hours in the Libraries!”
Thank you for your support!
