Questions and Answers

Below you will find answers to many common questions about #UMassGives 2017.

What is #UMassGives?

#UMassGives is an online fundraising event that begins during the on-campus Founders Day picnic every year.  For 2 days in April (the 27th and 28th), alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students, and friends of UMass come together to support their favorite areas of campus and to win prizes in matching funds to benefit their causes.

How can I make a gift?

Gifts can be made to UMass online at any time at www.umass.edu/give.  All gifts given from on April 27 and April 28 will count towards the #UMassGives campaign.

Why should I give to #UMassGives every year?

These gifts provide operating funds that are used immediately in just about every corner of the university. Gifts from alumni and friends play an increasingly vital role as funds from other sources, including state or federal appropriations, have stalled or declined.
Last year, #UMassGives raised over $180,000 from more than 2,400 alumni and friends. During last year’s campaign, for example, many donors designated their gifts to student scholarships.
