Student Affairs and Campus Life

What does it mean to be a part of the UMass Amherst community? How do we encourage our students to engage with each other with care and compassion? How do we facilitate connecting students with the people, ideas, and experiences that bridge classroom learning to real-world thinking? How do our students combine their talents, interests and passions to create successful futures? These are the questions that shape the work of Student Affairs and Campus Life. From Veterans Services to Cultural Centers to Registered Student Organizations (RSO) to Career Services to Student-Run Businesses, your donation touches the day-to-day lives of our students in real and meaningful ways.

By giving to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Campus Life Office, you are become part of our key SACL initiatives:

  • Providing special welcome and support for UMass Amherst students who are transitioning to campus from foster youth programs
  • Building community and providing advocacy for student veterans and their families
  • Addressing food insecurity issues for low income students
  • Tutoring and mentoring first generation college bound youth in Springfield and Holyoke
  • Providing emergency loans to students for situations such as transportation costs home for sudden family illness or death; medical supplies or co-pays for injury or hospitalization; car repairs to get to school or work; loss of vital personal property by theft or fire; etc.

Through gifts to the offices within Student Affairs and Campus Life such as the Stonewall Center, the Center for Multicultural Advancement and Student Success (CMASS), the Center for Women and Community, WMUA, Career Services, or the Student Government Association, you directly support a diverse, caring, and vibrant campus climate.
