Help Support Student Nurse Leaders!
WHO:
The UMass Amherst Student Nurses Association (SNA) develops future nursing leaders through professional development opportunities, student support, and community involvement.
WHAT:
Sending dedicated members to the National Student Nursing Association Annual Convention has been one of the most beneficial and rewarding opportunities the SNA provides.
Through the NSNA Annual Conventions, students:
Not only do attending students benefit, but they bring their knowledge, tips, and advice to other College of Nursing students.
WHY WE NEED HELP NOW:
UMass Amherst’s representation at the NSNA Annual Convention is in jeopardy. University-wide budget cuts are affecting every program, including nursing. We are working hard to stretch out resources to ensure our students have access to all of the best resources, but we could use your help.
By investing in our student nurses, you are investing in the future of the nursing practice as a whole.
"They have to work together as a team, manage finances, be creative in their fundraising strategies, network with alumni and administrators, use their resources to problem solve, and manage the student body for meetings and minutes. All of these items are skills needed in nursing because nursing is focused on collaboration, advocacy, prioritization, and addressing the health of individuals, families, and communities."
