UMass Hillel is the center of Jewish student life at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Our pluralistic approach ensures a rich range of opportunities for ALL students to create and engage meaningfully in Jewish life and community.
Whether students are interested in social events, community service, religious services, the arts - Hillel has it all. Recognized internationally as a leader in creative campus programming, UMass Hillel is the only campus Hillel to win the William Haber Award for outstanding programming six times!
While UMass Hillel serves over 2,000 students on the flagship Amherst campus it is nonetheless a private, not for profit 501(c)3 responsible for its own budget and fundraising. Because UMass Hillel is an organization with a religious component, it is not able to receive any funding from the public University. 84% of the funding available for UMass Hillel comes directly from donations and grants with individual donor gifts comprising over 62% of Hillel’s total income. For these reasons, support from private sources is essential for the survival of UMass Hillel, now more than ever! Thank you for considering a tax-deductible donation to UMass Hillel!
