What is AWIS?
The Association for Women in Science is an organization that is dedicated to providing support, resources, and encouragement for women in STEM. In addition to providing resources like networking opportunities, career advice, and camaraderie among members, a significant portion of our events involve community outreach. In our events, we hope to inspire young girls in our local community so that they are not intimidated by nor restricted in following their passions.
How can you help?
With your donations, we’ll be able to attend more events such as Geek is Glam and conduct more community outreach throughout the Amherst and Western MA area!
AWIS at the local Barnes and Noble Maker’s fair creating snow and explaining the science behind it!
AWIS at Geek is Glam, which is an all day workshop event where young girl scouts are able to conduct scientific experiments and expand their interest in STEM. This year we made eggshell geodes! 
More fun with snow at Barnes and Noble! Little kids were able to explore the science behind creating synthetic snow!
RSO Challenge
The participating RSOs (registered student organizations) with the most donors throughout #UMassGives will receive bonus money! First place will receive $1,000 and second and third places will receive $500 each! Make a gift of any size to your favorite to help them win!
