The Black Student Union (BSU) was established in September of 1987 on the campus of UMass Amherst. Since its establishment, the organization has represented all of the cultures included in the African Diaspora. We are dedicated to creating an organization and forum that exhibits the beauty, creativity, and struggle that these diverse groups have to share with the UMass community.
Any funding BSU receives from this campaign would go towards giving back to the UMass community through events and programming that can help assist lower-income UMass students no matter their background. We are committed to serving, representing, and advocating on behalf of students of color and addressing issues that affect the community we live in.
