The UMass Minuteman Marching Band is currently wearing uniforms that debuted when most of our musicians had yet to reach kindergarten. We've done our best to preserve and repair them, but it's time to say goodbye. Festooned with outdated graphics and an old logo, and riddled with holes, patches, and snags—saying these outfits have seen better days is an understatement.
Band Director Timothy T. Anderson, EdD shows off the well-ventilated bottom half of a uniform.
Clearly, we need to replace these uniforms. And we need your help. Band alumni, fellow students, family, and friends helped us raise nearly $1 million to build the George N. Parks Minuteman Marching Band Building. With 400 members and uniforms costing about $500 each, we only need one-fifth of that amount to outfit all band members in uniforms befitting the Power and Class of New England.
These band members would love some new duds.
A gift in any amount helps us get closer to our goal. You know what a UMass Minuteman Marching Band performance is like. Now imagine it with a look to match. Help us march with our best feet forward in 2017!
Thank you for your continued support of the Power and Class of New England and, as always,
