Demands on our nurses is increasing. After three exhausting years caring for patients throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, nurses continue to leave the health care sector in large numbers, exacerbating a shortage that was projected years ago by the labor department.
With short staffing and burnout at an all-time high, it is not a surprise that 62% of nurses are deeply concerned about the future of nursing.
You can help impact the future of healthcare, by supporting a future nurse get their degree and donate today during UMassGives. Victor Mora ’23, shares why giving back is so important:
“Since receiving my scholarship, I have progressed greatly in my nursing career. I have completed several clinical semesters, excelled in difficult courses, and developed great confidence in my capabilities as a nurse. I spent this past summer working in a local emergency department and am proud to say that I have made an everlasting positive impact on the patients I have had the pleasure of working with.”
Your contribution makes a difference in the lives of students like Victor, who will undoubtedly strengthen the future of nursing.
If you are able to donate on Wednesday, April 26, from 3-4 pm, nursing will be able to compete for matching university dollars in the Power Hour. Please donate today!
For this power hour it is not about dollars raised, but about participation, so every gift matters—no matter the size.
