The Department of Biomedical Engineering is a young department that was founded in 2017 as part of a larger life sciences initiative at UMass Amherst to prepare young minds who innovate at the interface of engineering, science, and medicine for a healthier future. Donations would help the department to support student education and research activities, recruit and retain top-flight faculty, and initiate cutting-edge research programs in human health
