Our Fringe Fest is inspired by the famous festival in Edinburgh — a wildly varied collection of hundreds of events that encompasses the rich variety of theater-making.
Our festival runs along a more modest scope of about a dozen events, but is no less valuable for it. Our festival represents out students’ learning. Every year they put together compelling independent student productions, handling everything from casting to set building to publicity. Every student who participates comes out of the experience a more accomplished, confident artist who has a better understanding of how to navigate the business and artistic sides of theater.
These events are free to patrons — but not for the department. We support our students with mentorship from faculty and staff and access to materials and tools in all of our shops. For Fringe 2022, we brought in guest artists and staff; sometimes, we purchase new equipment and goods to support student events.
We are already looking forward to the bounty of beautiful events sure to delight folks during Fringe 2023.
Can you make a gift to help us support our students’ needs?
Thank you!
Make even more of an impact by giving during our Power Hour, Thursday, April 28 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.! If we get the largest number of unique donors, we could win up to $2,000 in bonus money!
