What Is BDIC?
The Bachelor's Degree with Individual Concentration has been revolutionizing undergraduate since 1970. The BDIC program is the only major at UMass Amherst which allows students to create their own interdisciplinary degrees. Our students are resourceful, broad-minded, and entrepreneurial. The program has also been a testing ground for new ideas and is responsible for incubating various popular emergent degrees and departments at the university including Women's Studies, Legal Studies, STPEC, Computer Science, Public Health, Sustainable Foods, and Farming, and Informatics. Now more than ever, there is a need for interdisciplinary skills and opportunities for students. BDIC is an inclusive home for UMass students where students can pursue their passions, talents, and unique visions to build interdisciplinary bridges.
Why Support BDIC?
BDIC is excited to participate in UMassGives. All funds raised during the event will go to directly support our students. The funds will be used for academic events. More specifically, your gift will support the BDIC Abroad to help students participate in international programs, the Community Fund, supporting networking and community events, and the Student Emergency support fund.
