Civic Engagement and Service-Learning (CESL) offers courses and programs that engage with communities to deepen collective learning and work for a more just world.
Your gift to CESL supports engagement with communities that has impacts in Western Massachusetts, the Commonwealth and beyond.
This semester, students in CESL programs—including The Boltwood Project, Community Scholars Program (CSP), IMPACT, and the Civic Engagement and Public Service Certificate–are:
• Exploring the creation of a sense of place and place attachment for Puerto Ricans in Holyoke, MA.
• Supporting local community conversations with mothers of color on health issues in their lives with the Women of Color Health Equity Collective.
• Promoting awareness of indoor mold and its health hazards with ARISE for Social Justice in Springfield, MA.
• Partnering with the Quincy, MA public school district to create dance opportunities for children with disabilities.
These are just a few examples of CESL students’ commitment to working for a more just world. To support them, resources are needed for:
• Summer internships with community organizations
• Transportation to local community partners
• Community-engaged projects
Your contribution of any size makes a big difference in our work!
Thank you,
CESL Students, Faculty, and Staff
