School of Public Policy

At the UMass Amherst School of Public Policy, we prepare students to become leaders in public service with a curriculum that combines theory with professional skills development and practical experience.

When you support the School of Public Policy during UMassGives, you create opportunities for students inside and outside the classroom. Your gift will:

  • support students in unpaid internships
  • provide grants to allow students to travel to professional and academic conferences, to present their research and make professional connections
  • support the School of Public Policy’s professional seminar visits to Washington, DC, where students visit government agencies and nonprofit organizations; connect with legislators, SPP alumni, and other policy professionals; and learn about career possibilities
  • compete in the annual NASPAA-Batten Student Simulation Competition, an international competition in which students test their skills solving a policy crisis, using real-world data

Over the past two years we have climbed in rankings of graduate programs, placing among the top programs in New England in the recent US News and World Report rankings. Thank you for your continued support, and for being part of the School of Public Policy’s strong, engaged community. We couldn’t do it without you!

I hope my fellow UMass, Amherst alumni will join me in giving back to our alma mater and current and future students.”
