The Time is Now - Support the Rebirth of the Labor Movement

Teachers, hotel employees, and other workers across the country are striking and winning.

The labor movement is being reborn right before our eyes. The time to support that rebirth is now. Put your money where your politics are: give to a union-side leadership training program and research center.

Give to the UMass Amherst Labor Center today and support our most pressing needs, such as:

Student Support

At this critical time in labor history, the Center is training the next generation of leaders and activists. Most of our students are rank-and-file union members who can’t afford to pay the full cost of a Master's program. Your gift will go towards scholarships to our students.

Research

Our faculty and students collect the data behind organizing and legislative campaigns. Many of our students work as interns with partner unions. The other side has think tanks in DC doing this work for them. Your gift will support the strategic research for our side.

Don’t take our word for it: Ask Our Students

“The Labor Center provided me a unique opportunity to continue student activism while taking classes that allowed me to study the kinds of social movements we need to build. The students and faculty have a real commitment to social and economic justice, and this means that the program is about much more than getting a degree.” - MISHY LEIBLUM, UNITE HERE, Maryland/Virginia

“The Labor Center is one of the few places students and activists can call home and think creatively about the necessity to organize and put the movement back into the labor movement.” - DAVID DE HOYOS, SEIU LOCAL 1877 JUSTICE FOR JANITORS, San Diego, California

“It’s so much more than just a classroom experience. My internship gave me the opportunity to get involved in hands-on organizing, research, member mobilization, and coalition-building.” -ERIN ENWRIGHT, COUNCIL 93 AFSCME, Boston, Massachusetts
