The mission of Autism Speaks U is to spread awareness and educate people in the UMass Amherst campus community and the local community about autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Additionally, Autism Speaks U fundraises for research on ASD, which helps those struggling with ASD and their families.
Each year Autism Speaks U, puts on mini events with a large-scale event each semester. All year we volunteer at Whole Children in Hadley. Whole Children is an after-school program for adults and kids with disabilities to have fun, do things they love, and learn life skills. This upcoming fall we plan on putting on our 3rd Annual Talent Showcase. This showcase is an all ability inclusive showcase. Our featured group is the Joyful Chorus from Whole Children. Along with the Joyful Chorus, other campus groups and individuals perform! Next spring we plan to put on the 12th Annual Autism Speaks U 5K Run / 3K Walk! This run/walk raises donations for Autism Speaks. At this event, we have a kids table, free t-shirts, free food, raffles, and so much more!
With your donation, no matter how small or large, we will be able to put on these events and continue raising awareness and educating others! Thank you!
