We are the Asian American Student Association. Our mission at its core is to provide a cultural space for the Asian/Asian-American community at not only at UMass, but in the Pioneer Valley and within the 5-Colleges! Throughout the year, we hold a variety of different events that focus on a certain aspect of Asian/Asian-American culture. For example, each month, we hold a general body event with a different theme that pertains to an important issue or event. This past month, we had an event that discussed the importance of mental health in the Asian community. We aim to create a space where everyone and anyone can feel comfortable to learn and experience new things.
Above all, bringing together the community is our goal. At the end of the year, we hold our annual student showcase, Asian Night, where we invite student groups to perform along with two guest artists, who are influential figures in the Asian/Asian-American community. The best part is, everything is free so that anyone can participate! Funding to keep improving our organization and host even better events is crucial to meet our mission of connecting the community. We ask you to help us achieve this goal and donate to us this year!
