The Democratic primary and the 2020 election is fast approaching!
With an already large field of candidates with a variety of platforms, the primary is sure to be one full of substantive debates and new ideas. The UMass Democrats are committed to educating students about the Democratic Party, it’s politics, and helping students engage in the political process. For this year’s midterm elections, the UMass Dems knocked on thousands of doors for races in Massachusetts, New York, and New Hampshire and made thousands of calls for candidates across the country. Our hard work paid off as many of the candidates we directly volunteered for won important races that helped flip the house. We need your help to keep up our voter engagement on campus by registering voters, getting students to New Hampshire to canvass, and to take back the White House in 2020. Any donation helps us do this next year and for 2020
Many students want to volunteer on campaigns, but the costs associated with going to the nearest swing state (New Hampshire) are often a barrier to them gaining this important campaign experience, and in turn, those campaigns are losing out on the help of enthusiastic students. Money raised from this fundraiser will go towards supporting these students no matter who they choose to campaign for.
Our members registered hundreds of students to vote and drove voters to the polls from morning until evening on election day in 2018. We plan to do the same with renewed energy for the 2020 primaries and general election! Getting voters out to the polls and sending out registration and absentee request forms is not free and can be challenging when operating on a tight budget. Your donation will go towards making sure every UMass student has the opportunity to vote in the 2020 primaries and general election. Thank you in advance for your donation as any amount will help us go into 2020 as strong as possible.
