The Boltwood Project is a community service-learning course at Umass Amherst, and it is the oldest registered student organization here. It is also a registered non-profit! The purpose of The Boltwood Project is two-fold: to provide additional opportunities for recreation/social-oriented activities and general skill development for people and children with varying abilities.
Our funds will be used to further educate over 150 students during our three-weekend seminars throughout the semester where we bring accomplished speakers with a unique perspective on disability to UMass and welcome all to attend. The fundraised money will also go directly to the supplies and food we bring to our sites/community partners where we reach over 200 participants of all ages. Some of our sites include Farren Care Center (an assisted living home), Berkshire Hill Music Academy, elementary and middle schools in Holyoke and Amherst, and various group homes in the community.
Increased support will provide more resources to better ourselves and the Pioneer Valley community, and we deeply appreciate anything you can give to our non-profit that positively touches the lives of hundreds of people in the community.
