Active Minds is a national organization that empowers students to speak openly about mental health in order to educate others and encourage help-seeking. We are changing the culture on campuses and in the community by providing information, leadership opportunities, and advocacy training to the next generation. The UMass Amherst Chapter of Active Minds is raising money to bring mental health advocacy to our campus in a bigger and better way than ever before. The funds we raise from this year's UMassGives will go towards helping us organize campus wide mental health advocacy events, such as our suicide prevention walk that happens annually in April. It will also go towards bringing valuable mental health resources to faculty and students and expanding our club meetings.
