S#arp Attitude is UMass Amherst's premiere all-female identified a cappella group. Since starting from casual roots in 2011, S#arp Attitude has worked hard to develop its sound, image, and repertoire, garnering respect as a top-performing group in the Northeast. Over the years, S#arp Attitude has transformed into a strong and competitive all-female group. We were featured on Sing It On, an ACA-reality show produced by John Legend, following our journey to the 2016 ICCA Championship. S#arp Attitude's mission is to change the way society thinks about all-female identified a cappella and to promote dynamic women in the spotlight.
In the past, S#arp Attitude was featured on the a capella reality TV show “Sing It On” which followed our 2016 journey to the ICCA quarterfinals. These televised performances of our empowering repertoire not only emphasized the group’s message of strength and positivity to the entire campus but also exemplified female power and potential produced by the arts at UMass. Our most recently recorded album is currently nominated for best female-collegiate a cappella recorded album of the year, which further spread our name and mission throughout the campus and country. The money fundraised through UMassGives will enable our group to host performances, attend gigs representing UMass, and purchase music equipment.
