Epic Movement

fall_retreat1.jpg

At Epic Movement at UMass, our goal is to primarily reach Asian American students to create a community that allows for students to grow in their passion for Jesus Christ and make the good news known. We primarily do this through four main events: (1) Weekly General Body Meetings (2) Joint Fall Retreat with Cru (3) Epic National Conference (4) Interministry Worship Night. In our weekly general body meetings, we perform organized worship, have a speaker, and have a group discussion. During these sessions, we engage the spirituality of the members and initiate a conversation that enhances the spiritual health and the general emotional health of the members by allowing the people to share their thoughts and communicate their understandings freely. In our annual fall retreat, members are invited to participate in our retreat where we spend time away from campus at a camp, where speakers are invited to teach and guide us through spiritual topics to develop a greater understanding of the faith of the members. Alongside this, members are able to truly develop the sense of community that is necessary to the goal of the organization.

At Epic National Conference, Epic chapters from colleges across the United States gather together for a common mission to understand our shared experiences. Through this event, members are invited to partake in mission trips during the summer to places all over the world. And finally, Inter-Ministry Worship Night. Once per semester, we will collaborate with other campus ministries for a night of worship. As part of our mission to build the members up and equip them in their walk of faith, this worship event would allow the members to enhance their attitudes in preparation for the work that is to be done. Moreover, this event allows the campus ministries to unite and work collectively under a shared mission. While these events (and other events planned throughout the semester) are not possible without the students helping organize them, we would like to emphasize that it would also not be possible without donors like you, so thank you.
