Graduate Student Senate

Graduate Student Senate (GSS) is a student-run, elected, and financed governance body at UMass Amherst. We represent and advocate on behalf of graduate students with the other university governance bodies, administration, committees and councils, and board of trustees.

Our Mission:

To serve as a resource and advocate for UMass Amherst graduate students;

To represent the goals, interests, concerns, and professional development of the graduate student population of UMass Amherst;

To facilitate community and communication among graduate students in different Colleges, Schools, and Departments of UMass Amherst;

and To identify and address the current and emerging needs of UMass Amherst graduate students.
