The mission of the UMass First-generation Low-Income Partnership (FLIP) is to create and maintain space and community dedicated to first-generation and or low-income college students. We strive to create a tight-knit community to provide support to each other to succeed in all aspects of life – academically, socially, financially, and emotionally. Additionally, we seek to advocate for the first-generation and or low-income student community, working to solve campus, statewide, and national issues such as college affordability that disproportionately affects our students.
By supporting FLIP we will be able to host a variety of events, build a prominent image on campus and offset our ambitions to create an inclusive environment where First Generation and or Low Income students at UMass are able to grow and have the best experiences that they can. UMass FLIP is raising money to do more outside of what is expected from a club. This includes providing food at meetings and organizing events that build up confidence and community.
