The Student Care Supply Closet provides free toiletries and household items to students who are facing economic insecurity and/or an unexpected financial emergency. Students are able to access items such as shampoo/conditioner, soap, paper products, cleaning products, baby wipes and diapers, and menstrual products. Any student who is in need is eligible to use this resource—no questions asked.
Giving to the Student Care Supply Closet allows the Dean of Students Office to keep the supply closet full of free toiletries and cleaning supplies. Having access to this resource means that students can allocate their funds to other critical costs such as food, housing, medical and basic health needs, and childcare.
“When I didn't have enough money to buy toiletries & I couldn't ask my mom, the Supply Closet always came in handy to help me get the things I need. As a sophomore (Plant & Soil Science major) I'm still struggling being on my own & having to provide for myself but the Supply Closet has always had my back & given me the basic necessities. I've utilized the closet about three times due to not being able to afford pads or soap & it's just great to know that there are resources on campus that will help you if you can't help yourself. The basic needs are things that should be free for everyone & it's amazing that UMass is able to step up and having the Supply Closet for students like me.”

“I am a senior and the Supply Closet has helped me so generously because I currently work two jobs in order to afford my tuition and pay for other important expenses such as my car and groceries and saving money on toiletries and other necessities is truly such a help.”
