ACS PMSE/POLY Student Chapter

We are the UMass Amherst Student Chapter affiliated with the Polymeric Materials: Science and Engineering (PMSE) and Polymer Chemistry (POLY) Divisions of the American Chemical Society (ACS). Our goal is to provide opportunities for students to facilitate their growth scientifically and professionally. This is achieved by hosting events such as writing retreats, opportunities to develop presentation skills, and the hosting of invited speakers from government, academia, and industry. We are excited to work in conjunction with existing groups within the UMass PSE department and co-host events for students at all stages in their PhD journey. All of our events are advertised in departments across the university who have students working in the fields of polymers and soft matter, opening the door for students and postdocs to interact in a professional and scientifically-focused setting. We also strive to be an inter-university tool for students to make connections with other institutions that conduct polymer and soft matter research, and inspire academic and research collaborations that span beyond the walls of one department or one university. In addition, our chapter collaborates with other ACS PMSE/POLY student chapters across the country to bring more polymer-focused events and opportunities to the UMass Amherst community. Thank you for supporting our UMass PMSE/POLY Student Chapter!
