Autism Awareness U is a service and engagement club at UMass that focuses on listening to autistic voices, propagating accurate information about Autism Spectrum Disorder to the community, and providing a space for autistic people to feel accepted on campus. Over the course of the past year, our members have attended meetings to learn more about ASD, and they have also listened to guest speakers that are professionals in Special Education as well as self-identifying autistics. Our club has also been in preparation for our annual event in celebration of Autism Acceptance Month which occurs every year at the end of April. Money raised from UMassGives donations will be used to enhance our club events, allowing us (and our message) to reach more people!
