In the wake of COVID-19, it's more clear than ever that supporting students who are most in need of help is an all-in process. Emergency funding will become an even bigger part of making college success happen for our students. Please join me in this year’s UMassGives Campaign to support School of Public Health and Health Sciences (SPHHS) students by making a gift to our newly established SPHHS Student Emergency Fund.
The SPHHS Student Emergency Fund is a faculty and staff-led initiative to help students with financial assistance in a serious time of need. The fund is intended to be a supplemental financial resource when students are unable to meet immediate and essential expenses because of a temporary hardship surrounding situations such as accidents, illness, death of a family member, job loss, COVID-19 related issues, or need for temporary housing.
Funds will help students cover expenses associated with the following when need arises from an emergency:
