The Massachusetts Daily Collegian

The Daily Collegian is incredibly appreciative of the support we receive from alumni and our readers. We are hopeful that the direction the Collegian is headed in will provide the necessary experience and opportunities for student journalists for years to come, but we need your help. Advertising revenue is no longer enough to sustain the print production of the Daily Collegian. We’ve made significant efforts to lessen our costs, cutting the paper down from four days a week last fall to two days a week last spring, and now just one day a week throughout the 2018-19 school year. The changes in our print product have been accompanied by a heavier focus on multimedia and the unveiling of the updated version of dailycollegian.com last year.

The money we raise during this event will go toward continuing to improve our website, purchasing the necessary equipment for our staff, investing in social media features to improve our following and toward our high printing costs.

Any donations made to the Collegian during UMass Gives are greatly appreciated. We thank you for the continued support of our independent, student-run newsroom.
