UMassGives 2021

Communities Against Cancer is an organization at UMass that supports various nonprofits fighting back against Cancer. Unfortunately, we have all been touched by cancer in some shape or form. Our group raises money and supports varying foundations so that no one has to hear the words “You have cancer” ever again. Our hope is that no one ever has to go through the pain and the suffering that this terrible disease causes. We, not only partner with national foundations such as the American Cancer Society, but we also partner with local non-profits such as the Each Moment We’re Alive, a local non-profit that supports breast cancer survivors through various programs. Recently we have joined forces with DKMS, an international organization that gives so many people second chances by matching them with a bone marrow donor. This club is designed to allow students to work through

many channels to eliminate cancer, whether that is through advocacy, fundraising, or education.

● Execute events that help those affected by cancer come together and fight back

● Manage fundraisers for local and national cancer support organizations

● Create a student cancer survivor support group on campus
