Protect Our Breasts
Students Creating Impact towards a Safer Marketplace

Protect Our Breasts multi-disciplinary experiential learning course functions as a nonprofit headquartered at UMass Amherst that shares the science about chemicals in products and packaging to empower young people to protect themselves from breast cancer and other diseases. Our success comes from traveling to trade shows to engage and add to our 102 organic brand partners, and supporting the 60 campus and community reps from Brown to UC Berkeley and in cities nationwide from DC to LA.  Send the message you care by giving $5 during the Protect Our Breast UMassGives Power Hour Wednesday noon to 1 pm.

POB has made an impact on preventing breast cancer and other diseases. We’ve influenced ~120,000 young people who are in a window of susceptibility, on social media and through our campus and community reps/chapters to avoid the chemicals of concern in our everyday products. We have partnered with our 102 organic brands that send the list of toxins found in packaging up the supply chain in hopes of having safer packaging alternatives reducing the migration of toxic chemicals into many of our products. We have shared 225 blogs based on the scientific literature on our website. Please consider making your gift on April 24th during the 12-1pm Power Hour, when the area on campus with the most individual donations will receive an additional $2,000.
