Outing Club

Hello! We are the UMass Outing Club - we take people into the woods and do things with them. We lead roughly five to ten trips per week for all ranges of abilities, enabling students and community members to get outside, enjoy nature, and participate in activities which they otherwise might not have the opportunity to try. We offer hiking, backpacking, rock and ice climbing, canoeing, whitewater kayaking, cross-country skiing, caving, whitewater rafting, skill workshops, a cabin in New Hampshire, and lots and lots of fun and friendship!

We offer a wide variety and high volume of safe, fun trips at a minimum cost to students. A yearlong membership costs just $20, and allows members to participate in trips at no further cost besides gas and food. These kind of trips require high quality, reliable gear and well trained, experienced trip leaders. Maintaining our gear, cabin, and safety equipment, as well as hosting interesting events and guests isn't cheap, and every little bit helps. We sincerely appreciate your donation, and we hope to see you outside soon!
