Student Scholars Program
The Center for Research on Families (CRF) contributes to innovative and evidence-based solutions to some of the most pressing problems facing families today through interdisciplinary research focused on the diversity, health, and well-being of families.
CRF supports UMass Amherst undergraduate and graduate students interested in family research with travel grants, dissertation and pre-dissertation fellowships, and undergraduate awards. Students receiving awards also participate in our Student Scholars Program, which mirrors our faculty Family Research Scholars Program. By providing funding, help with methodology, feedback and ongoing mentoring, CRF enables student scholars to pursue valuable research that could inform policy and practice in a wide range of family related areas, including: school readiness, child development, family violence, aging, immigration policies, college success, and much more. A new Grant writing program for graduate students piloted this spring will help students submit compelling applications for NIH and NSF Fellowships.
Our goal in #UMassGives is to raise $5,000 to increase our support for student researchers through fellowships and awards. All gifts will fund students directly.
Support our student researchers by contributing to the Center for Research on Families during UMassGives. HELP US WIN the April 27th 1:00–2:00 PM Power Hour! The fund with the most donations during that time will receive a $2,000 bonus. (Donations must be unique: only one gift per donor allowed).
