With the vision to "enhance the visibility of African Students and scholars (AGASA) on campus at UMass", AGASA is raising money DURING THE #UMASSGIVES event (April 26-27) to maintain our bi-weekly Brown bag presentations and to organize alumni-network nights to help connect African Alumni with current students to provide information about life during and after UMass including internships, funding, jobs etc.
In addition, money is being raised to organize professional workshops to train African students at UMass in how to manage a classroom/lab and how to integrate into the US educational system and other helpful advise to successfully navigate UMass and the US in general.
AGASA is also raising money to maintain and increase social and cultural activities such as African lunches and dinners and graduation parties.
