Cape Verdean Student Alliance

The Cape Verdean Student Alliance (CVSA) of UMass Amherst is committed to preserving and spreading awareness of the Cape Verdean culture on campus and throughout the surround community. One of the many ways in which we support this initiative is through community service efforts, our main one taking place every spring through our Alternative Spring Break (ASB) trip. Through our ASB trip, CVSA members have the opportunity to travel to one of the ten Cape Verdean islands and engage in community service and involvement, including visiting local schools and bringing school supplies, cleaning public areas, and interacting with community members. Upon return, students fundraise additional supplies to ship back to the island that was visited.

Funds accumulated from this fundraiser will help diminish the cost of flight expenses for students participating in the trip. Anything helps and we thank you in advance for your consideration and donation.

RSO Challenge

The participating RSOs (registered student organizations) with the most donors at the end of #UMassGives will receive bonus money! First place will receive $1,000 and second and third places will receive $500 each! Make a gift to your favorite RSO to help them win!
