The Native American Student Association is raising money for next year’s powwow! The 38th Annual UMass Powwow will be on Saturday, April 13, 2019. This is our largest event and central to Native life on campus. It regularly draws hundreds for dancing, drumming, eating good Native food, and having a great time!
The Native American Student Association was founded in 1986 as an organization for indigenous students on the UMass campus. We seek to create a safe, welcoming, and lively community for students of all backgrounds. Our organization offers cultural, social, and academic support. Additionally, NASA continues to advocate for all Native students at UMass by voicing our concerns to administrators, professors, and organizations, such as the Student Government Association (SGA). We provide an interchange among students on campus and provide Native students a support system stand-in for their community and family at home.
You can see clips from the powwow in 2017 in the video above! We appreciate any support you can give us to help bring this event to UMass next year!
