The Fine Arts Center Creates Transformative Joy

Support the UMass Amherst Fine Arts Center and the arts experiences that bring learning, joy, and connection to our campus and community.

At the Fine Arts Center, students don’t just attend events; they take part in meaningful arts experiences that shape how they learn and see the world. Through performances, exhibitions, workshops, and classes, students from all majors engage directly with artists and creative ideas, often for the first time.

Programs like Collecting 101 invite students behind the scenes to learn how museums choose new artwork and to help shape permanent collections. Visiting artists regularly go beyond the stage, participating in class visits and workshops that create moments of shared learning and cultural exchange. By bringing artists from around the world to UMass, the Fine Arts Center helps students connect across cultures, build confidence, and experience the arts as an essential part of their education.
