Pioneer Valley Trumpet Guild (PVTG) Arts Council

The '26 International Trumpet Guild (ITG) Conference at the Eastman School of Music (Rochester, NY) is the premier national gathering of trumpet performers, educators, and students, offering concerts, competitions, masterclasses, and lectures led by leading artists in the field. This event provides an unparalleled opportunity for students to engage with the highest levels of trumpet performance and pedagogy while connecting with a diverse community of musicians ranging from high school students to established professionals.

Through attendance at ITG, members of the Pioneer Valley Trumpet Guild (PVTG) will deepen their musical knowledge, refine their artistic skills, and gain inspiration to enhance the UMass Amherst trumpet & music community. Students will engage in meaningful dialogue with peers and professionals, fostering relationships that can lead to future collaborations, guest masterclasses, and expanded artistic opportunities on campus. This experience directly supports students’ artistic and professional development by broadening their exposure beyond the university setting. While UMass students have attended ITG in the past, participation has historically been limited by financial barriers.

Funding this project will expand access, allowing a broader and more diverse group of students to benefit from this transformative experience. By investing in student participation at ITG, this project strengthens both individual musicianship and the collective artistic environment at UMass Amherst, ensuring that the knowledge and connections gained extend well beyond the conference itself.
The Pioneer Valley Trumpet Guild (PVTG) is an undergraduate Registered Student Organization representing Trumpet Performance & Education majors at UMass Amherst.
