Building the Future of Sustainable Construction

The Building and Construction Technology (BCT) program prepares students to lead the future of sustainable, resource‑efficient building. BCT graduates blend hands-on technical expertise with a strong foundation in building science, construction technology, and project management—skills that are in high demand across the industry.

At UMass, BCT students learn in an applied, project-based environment that mirrors real-world challenges. Through coursework and collaborative projects, they gain experience in sustainable construction practices, materials performance, building systems and energy efficiency, estimating, business and marketing, digital tools, and effective written and oral communication.

Your support helps ensure BCT students continue to benefit from experiential learning opportunities, cutting-edge technologies, and the practical training they need to turn innovative ideas into sustainable, resilient buildings. Together, we can equip the next generation of builders and problem-solvers to make a lasting impact on our communities and the environment.
