Who we are!

What started as just an idea in spring 2024 has officially become a reality! The Alliance for Women in Accounting is a growing and proud Registered Student Organization at UMass Amherst.

As a group, our mission is to create a strong community where women in accounting feel supported, confident, and prepared to succeed both academically and professionally. Through mentorship, professional development, and meaningful connections, we strive to uplift and encourage women as they navigate the accounting field.

Over this past year, we hosted meetings and events that connected our members with accounting professionals and peers. From welcoming accounting firms to share internship and career opportunities, to resume workshops, networking events, and panels featuring professionals and students, we are committed to creating opportunities for women interested in accounting. These events provide valuable insight, networking opportunities, and practical advice to help students prepare for internships and future careers.

Over this past year, we have continued to grow and expand our initiatives to better support our members' academic and professional journeys. In addition to our events, we provide resources such as curated mentorship opportunities, course recommendations, and connections with alumni to help students navigate their path in accounting.

As our organization continues to grow, we remain committed to building a supportive space where women in accounting can learn from one another, gain confidence, and develop the tools needed for long-term success.
