The Center of Racial Justice and Youth Engaged Research at the University of Massachusetts Amherst stands as a powerful example of how education, community, and activism can come together to create meaningful change. Housed within the College of Education, the center places youth of color at the heart of its mission, emphasizing their voices as essential to transforming schools, research, and society. Through community-engaged partnerships, youth-led initiatives, and innovative programming, the center fosters leadership, critical teacher education, and racial equity across disciplines. From hosting events like youth-led Teach-Ins to organizing national conversations on art, culture, and justice, the center continues to build spaces where scholarship meets action and where young people are empowered to shape a more just and equitable future.
