AI for the Commonwealth Internship Program – Governor Presentations

In today’s world, the responsible creation, use, and management of technology and AI are core competencies needed for workforce development and societal advancement. The Public Interest Technology Initiative (PIT@UMass) focuses on developing these competencies. Our programming builds knowledge, skills, and experiences that empower students, faculty and citizens—all of us—to positively navigate the complex, sociotechnical world we live in.

PIT@UMass is prepared to serve students and faculty wherever they are on their educational journey with programming that includes:

  • PIT Residential Academic Program for incoming students to find and build PIT community and ease the transition to college life
  • Intro to PIT (Gen Ed) class for all students across campus
  • PIT Undergraduate Certificate to document skills and knowledge
  • PIT Clinics Course with opportunities for hands-on, real-world, experiential learning projects sponsored by cross-sector partners
  • High-impact fellowship and internship programs like AI for the Commonwealth        (pictured above)
  • PIT online Graduate Certificate
  • Interdisciplinary and creative Faculty Fellows program

Your support of PIT@UMass enables our students to develop and realize socially responsible solutions to the challenges of a technology-driven world. We are grateful for every dollar donated and will use the money for scholarships for student internships and high-impact learning experiences.

PIT serves as a critical foundation for 21st century education, for people who create technologies, and for those who work with them, which is all of us.

Thank you!
