The core mission of the Taiwanese and Chinese Students' Association (TCSA) is to celebrate the vibrant Taiwanese and Chinese heritage and to spread greater multicultural awareness to all. TCSA also aims to promote peaceful and meaningful interactions between Taiwanese Students, Chinese Students, Taiwanese-American students, Chinese-American students, and any students or people of UMass Amherst or its surrounding communities with an interest in the respective cultures.
TCSA is raising money for our next annual event, Cultural Night Market. We have held this event for 19 years now and it has brought in 500 attendees from recent records. Cultural Night Market brings to life a piece of Taiwanese and Chinese culture that is integral to nightlife in Taiwan and China, where they are especially known for their lively night markets. During our annual spring showcase for the Cultural Night Market, our club will have tabling set up with our own games and prizes along with other RSOs who will be tabling at our event. In addition, our club will be inviting performance groups and guest artists, and bringing in cultural food through catering, which will allow students from different backgrounds and communities to experience what nightlife is really like and other features of Taiwanese and Chinese culture.
