The UMass Ice Skating Club is a registered student organization at UMass Amherst that welcomes skaters of all levels onto the ice! Because we encourage new skaters to test out the ice, we provide our members with rental skates free of charge and host weekly skate times where we offer our skaters lessons; we want to foster a supportive learning environment!
After all of the generous donations at last year’s UMassGives, we’ve been able to regularly hold two practices a week, allowing us to get more members on the ice each week. We are so grateful that we have been able to provide more practices for our 580+ members, and we want to keep this up as we go into the next academic year; however, the costs of our ice time and rental skates is still high, and we cannot currently afford to continue this next year.
But, with your donation, this can be made possible! We want to continue fostering a space where UMass skaters – from beginners to pros – can be part of a community that wants to learn from and support one another. We hope that YOU will help us reach our goal so we can get more skaters on the ice!
To best support us, donate during our POWER HOUR on Wednesday, 4/29 from 6-7pm! During this hour, what matters most is the quantity of donations we get, so even $5 helps! Don’t forget… 6-7 on 4/29!!!
