Can you guess what time it is? Yes! Your very own student-run, editorially independent campus newspaper is asking for your support this April for our UMassGives fundraising campaign!
As you know, since 1890, the Massachusetts Daily Collegian has proudly served the UMass Amherst community by delivering impactful journalistic stories created by students, for students, and the broader community. Everything we do is possible because of our wonderful donors–you!
Thank you for your support in years past. We’ve been able to take some great strides! Your donations directly contribute to:
- Sending our sports reporters to cover away games across the country
- Purchasing new photography equipment for our multimedia section
- Growing our website’s ad revenue-generating capabilities
- Sending our talented student-journalists to conferences in the region
Your continued support and kindness have not only kept us going but have also given us the opportunity to grow.
Looking into next year, we’re even more ambitious. With your help, we aim to:
- Increase funding for travel so more of our wonderful sections can report from the field
- Expand our multimedia presence on our platforms
- Print more issues of the Collegian Magazine
- Apply to prestigious journalism awards
- Continuing to strengthen our website’s revenue potential to ensure our long-term sustainability.
