UMassGives Campaign: Spanish and Portuguese Program

The Spanish and Portuguese Program at UMass Amherst is a vibrant hub for linguistic research, cultural exchange, and academic innovation. This year, our UMassGives campaign is dedicated to enriching the experiences of our students and strengthening our ties to the broader community. Your contributions directly fund essential travel grants for our graduate students to present their research at national and international conferences, high-impact guest lectures, undergraduate programming and wellness events like our recent bachata class! Crucially, these funds also support our community engagement activities, allowing us to bring language and culture beyond the classroom through local outreach and collaborative events.

We invite you to join us during our Power Hour on Wednesday, April 29, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. During this window, every unique donor brings us closer to securing an additional $2,000 in challenge funds.

Join us in person! If you are local, please join us in 301 Herter Hall during the Power Hour for a special Zumba event. We’ll have snacks and a high-energy Zumba session led by one of our graduate students, Icíar Soriano. The instruction will be in Spanish, but as we know, the language of dance is universal. Come for the snacks, stay for the dance, and help us reach our donor goal!
