Landscape Architecture & Regional Planning

Landscape architects and planners are needed to help solve today’s biggest challenges, from housing inequality to climate change. At the UMass Amherst Department of Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning (LARP), world-class faculty train students to design resilient landscapes and help communities achieve their goals for the future. Visit https://www.umass.edu/landscape-planning/ to learn more about LARP!

This year, we are raising money to fund student scholarships, cutting-edge learning tools, and life-changing professional experiences. Learn about the different ways you can give below:

1. Support All LARP Students:

The Frank Waugh Alumni Board Scholarship Fund was founded by the department’s alumni board to provide ongoing support for students. Please help us grow this fund to give our students the best opportunities to build their skills, grow their professional networks, and pursue amazing careers. Help us reach our $100,000 goal!

The General Fund supports the department in delivering the best educational experience for its students while fostering community. This fund supports department-wide events, the introduction of advanced academic and technological resources, student enrichment opportunities, and program growth.

2. Support Master of Regional Planning Students:

The Mullin Scholarship is an endowment for Master of Regional Planning (MRP) students at UMass Amherst. This fund was established in honor of Professor Emeritus John Mullin and has been used to recruit and retain top students in the MRP program. Please help us grow this fund to support future planners!

3. Support Landscape Architecture Students:

The Garden X Graphite Scholarship was spearheaded by LARP alumni, Lauren Stimson and Stephen Stimson, to help the department recruit and retain socioeconomically disadvantaged students in landscape architecture. This fund reached its $200,000 goal! Your support will help the department continue its efforts to remove barriers and build new bridges in landscape architecture.
