Filipino Student Association

The UMass Filipino Student Association is an award-winning, cultural RSO (Registered Student Organization) here at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. We were founded in Fall 2021 with the mission of spreading Filipino culture to UMass, the Five College community, and beyond! Diversity and inclusion are two of our fundamental values; everyone, without exception, is welcome in our organization.

Since our establishment, we have launched our Barkada Program. This mentorship program groups students in “families” with the goal of easing underclassmen into the college experience and creating life-long connections. We have consistently hosted community events, and collaborations with top RSOs, in addition to our first merchandise roll-out of branded sweatshirts and t-shirts. Our first annual Bayanihan Ball, which debuted on April 28, 2023, had incredible performances, delicious food, and exciting prize giveaways to make up a fun night of Filipino culture. This was the largest student-led celebration of Filipino culture in Western Massachusetts, and this event would've not been possible without last year’s UMass Gives donations from generous patrons like you! Our next 3rd annual Bayanihan Ball, which is slated for May 2nd, 2025, is currently on sale and is available for purchase.
