Did you know that UMass Amherst Legal Studies is the oldest academic program of its kind in the country? We help students prepare for careers related to law and justice both domestically and internationally, and our major keeps growing in size! Now, as we re-launch as an independent department in 2025, we need your support to ensure a strong start to this exciting new chapter.
UMassGives is our opportunity to rally together and provide critical resources for our students. This year, the Department Launch Fund will provide essential resources as we establish our new home—including everything from student support to faculty resources.
Your gift will directly support the department’s greatest needs, including:
- The Department Launch Fund, ensuring a strong foundation for our new and growing department.
- Scholarships that make Legal Studies accessible to all students.
- Internship funding that connects students with courts, law firms, and advocacy organizations.
- Faculty-student research that drives innovation in legal education and enhances practical learning.
